Welcome to Northwest Colorado BOCES

Our Mission Statement

Through the cooperative efforts and services of NW BOCES, school districts will improve student achievement and maximize resources.

Northwest Colorado Board of Cooperative Educational Services (NW BOCES) is a cooperative service agency providing special education and other services to its member school districts.  We employ Special Service Providers who work with special education students in schools throughout Northwest Colorado.  These service providers include Occupational Therapists, School Psychologists and Speech Language Pathologists.  In addition, we employ a Special Education Director and an IEP Compliance Director, and serve as the state's Special Education Administrative Unit for our districts.

NW BOCES operates other educational programs on behalf of school districts, including Preschool Programs and Alternative Day Treatment Programs. Additional services provided include regional grant-writing and administration, professional development for district staff and student events including annual Colorado Model UN and CU Science Discovery workshops.

Teachers know how important it is for students to understand how Colorado is constructed. They want the next generation of Coloradans to be familiar with well-known landmarks such as Mesa Verde and Rocky Mountain National Parks, historical sites including the Ludlow Massacre and Bent’s Fort, as well as understanding the physical landscape of the state. NW Colorado BOCES has purchased a giant map (14 x 21 feet) of Colorado that is now available for teachers in our districts to check out.
